Stoics are a group of hugely influential ancient philosophers who advocated a philosophy of living based mainly upon focusing solely on the things you can control. Stoicism has experienced a resurgence in recent decades as people look for practical advice on ways to live a good life.
Zeno of Citium was a Greek and the originator of stoic philosophy. Epictitus and Seneca the Younger are the two most famous Roman stoics. Most of what we know about the teachings of stoicism come from these two, as well as Marcus Aurelius.
